catched by debug player and not catched by release version :(

Thanks, Maxim! Just the starting point I needed. Already had the user
swap a wired external and his internal mic. When I set up another
'play date' with him to troubleshoot OM across the time zones this will
save us both valuable time.

I would ask the user to use recording test: "Start recording test" button
on "Choose device" dealog
then you can modify config.xml and "play" with "microphoneRateBest",
"echoPath" and "echoSuppression" properties
this will require couple of round-trips:
1) you change the value
