guacamole.properties environment variables

I've been playing around with passing MySQL and environment variables from .bashrc to guacamole.properties in an attempt to prevent db and searc-bind-user info from being stored in plain-text, but haven't had any luck. Is it possible to pass system variables to guacamole.properties?
