For me as a user it looks like Cayenne (core) could have a lot of synergies
with Apache DDLUtils:

To me it looks like both projects spend most of the time on ironing out the
"quircks" of various (supporing as many as possible) databases to be able
"access" them

It's a pitty that JPA seems to have a higher priority
than cayenne modeler :( .

P.S. Plug-ins would open the way to many contributions
that are not possible right now.

Are there any changes to the state of the plugin
support in cayenne modeler?
Is there a final framework decided? Or maybe an
internal solution? Or maybe there are new
players(plug-in frameworks) in the mean time?
More users (me included) would have improvements to
cayenne modeler if it would be p
