Milenko,
Check your friends env variables, perhaps he has something set (port, etc)
that you don't.
Cheers.

Ali,
An RDBMS is solving a different problem than Cassandra is so its an apples
to oranges comparison from where I sit. If you don't need Cassandra (which
sounds like you do), then don't use it -- more nodes and higher tiers of
AWS are a function of the features it offers. Imagine what your cost

Hi All,
We recently upgraded from .65 to .66 after which we tried adding a new node to
our cluster. We left it bootstrapping and after 3 days, it still refused to
join the ring. The strange thing is that nodetool info shows 50GB of load
and nodetool ring shows that it sees the rest of ring,
Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi All,
Please forgive the job offer spam.
We're looking to add a developer with experience using Cassandra, to join our
team in Barcelona. An ideal candidate will have a strong CS background
(academic or otherwise) with high level Java skills and experience programing
in Scala. Knowing y

Sounds like maybe your not binding the 7000 port to the correct interface,
maybe you have it set to localhost, rather then the IP address. If you want to
confirm, try prompt> telnet [machine ip] 7000
If you get a connection refused, then the above is true.
Hope this helps.
