RC2 in the process and it did not solve the problem. Then I deleted the
preferences file and that did the trick.
I wonder how the window got goofed up in the first place? Oh well, I
know how to fix it in the future.

Can you post a screenshot? Worst case, you can probably remove your
preferences file and it'll force the editor window back to default, but i'm
digging through the code/objects in the thing, maybe I can find a way to
fix it without going that far.
