Not sure exactly what effect you're looking for, but if your field has black text, you could set the hiliteColor of the field to white and set the ink effect of the field to multiply. This will cause the hilite to appear transparent. Please explain again if that's not the effect you want. Regard

I have a transparent list field over an image. I would like to track selections using the convenience of the hilitedline but I don't want any color to actually show, since it obscures the image behind it. Does anyone know a trick to set a transparent hilitepattern or hilitecolor? -- Jacqueline

Thanks Paul For readability of the properties file I have moved the colors and patterns to their named individual counterparts rather than the list you get in the properties array. Otherwise in a text diff it's unclear exactly which property changed. So I don't think my code will have this issu
