i know about that... (in ubuntu) don't know where to config that...

can anyone tell me what is the regular resolution the HIG is supposed

if we know that, we could just calculate the actual difference for

After reading all of this, i got that lots of people use the master
volume control (seating next of the notification area) with the mouse
wheel; somehow i got the idea that maybe the window list applet might
have more use than the simple tool tip it does (or the occasional
small preview in compiz).

It's a nice idea, but I feel that it increases a lot the amount of
space needed by the menu
hello,
i think that your idea seems like a menu in the desktop containing your
launchers, could you make a simple mock up to clarify

When i point that maybe the problem is the tabs design, i mean that
the way that tabs are make them look bad if there is only one tab, i
agree it's annoying having that waste of space there in the top, but,
maybe the change of color from the window to the tab makes the
contrast of that space feel a

i like the slider idea, if there is a slider tabs should not be
resized, in nautilus they should at least have the name of the folder
and maybe have a resize to that name, with a max-size limit.

tabs, should have the option of being positioned on the top, on the

so if i am on my docs folder smartags could allow me to just see text
docs or spread sheets or web pages or pictures based on what the
folder has in it! that would be really nice but the selection should
be very visible so that you always know that nautilus is showing you
just pdfs at the moment...

I don't know if there is a widget that holds launcher icons on a
gnome's (top/bottom) bar, if there is the solution relies in using it,
that way all the launchers would not be moved from their position on a

your know, i think that the screen saver is not in that menu (window,
module) because is not part of the look of the OS, the splash or logging
screen might be part but not the screen saver...

ubuntu uses 2 interfaces, the basic regular gnome and another that i
do not remember the name, basically is a semi transparent menu that
fills the screen and lets you choose the most used programs with big
icons.
