I'm not sure I understand what you mean... for "real-time" multiple
selection there's click-and-hold, and ctrl-click (imo) obviously needs the
user to click several times since it selects nonadjacent items, how else do
you determine what to select? Or am I way off mark?

I know what you mean. MS Office is already implementing this, would be sweet

It's not an enitrely new idea, but it's not in Gnome yet (afaik) so it's

counterintuitive?
Here's how I'd imagine it:
- the panel icon has a little arrow next to it
- clicking the icon opens a new note
- clicking the little arrow opens a list with the titles of notes you've
created so far
- this list
(sorry if this is duplicate, not sure if the first one went through)

Hey guys,
The latest thread reminded me of this little irk I have. When I go to save a
document and the dialog box comes up, the filename "Untitled document" (or
spreadsheet or whatever) is highlighted. However, if I start typing, instead
of editing the filename as I myself would naturally expect,
readsheets... have the

Yep, it's metacity. And the focus always gets stolen, no matter what name I
put in.
