Are there plans to show minimized windows differently during spread?
In my personal usage, minimized windows have lower priority in the

I agree, current behavior is terribly confusing. I believe I made a similar
post to the ayatana list when 11.04 came out. There really needs to be
preditctable behavior when clicking on an item that has multiple instances.
Personally, I'd favor an approach similar to the windows 7 superbar or

a part that
we use frequently, so not forgetting about it and making it that extra bit more
accessible and comfortable to use is always welcome.

Thanks for the analysis. Here is my understand of what *should* be
happening. There are clearly bugs, in part because I suspect the
interaction of all this with minimised windows was never specified in
detail, I may be speaking out of turn, John Lea will be able to provide

Hi, confusing indeed!
I think the logic should be:
- A click on a Launcher Icons does what it takes to bring the associated
application to the top.
- Thus if the application isn't running, it will be started.
- Since the scope is applications, not windows, bringing the application
to the top c
Hello,
I can't seem to figure out the reasoning behind the behavior of
left-clicking a launcher icon when there are multiple instances of a
program running. It is currently quite confusing. As it is now, there
are at least five different things that happen when you click the
launcher:
