I agree with this last state, if it can't be automated. It is similar to
"Privacy" that it's a setting in my eyes to "keep" a certain amount of
kernels. I'd go for only the current and the most recent second one, but
further investigation in automating this process should be done.

Might I suggest you try building them yourself? Yes it will require a
significant amount of learning before you can successfully do that, but
along the way you will learn a lot about the true impact of your
suggestions, and possibly even why they're not as good as you currently
think.
