For 12.10 the LIM is dynamic ie.. for unmaximized windows LIM icon is
present and for maximized ones, the LIM is absent and the global menu takes
over.
The placement of LIM icon should be little far (about 6-8 mm) from the
windows control buttons (close/minimize/maximize) and clear to the windows

Well in my case I have Intel for graphics but it also opens slow on my
Dad's gaming PC with Nvidia card.
Everything else it lightning fast but the Dash isn't so I would say it
needs looking at.

I see, on my core 2 notebook with 3 GB ram that opening the dash
requires more time than opening nautilus from the launcher. Does this
make sense? Is it a problem of me or of Unity interface? It happens
both in Unity and in Unity 2D...

Is there quite a short timeout for the Recent Files list in the Dash
Home? For me it seems that it only shows files used in the last few
hours which is much too short a timeout for me. For example when I
start up in the morning it shows none of yesterday's files. The
Recent Apps section does not
Hi Ryan, thanks a lot for bringing this up. I agree that animations in many
cases could be smoother, is not just a matter of frame rate but at first of
easing (and consequentially of duration). We are currently looking into
that keeping as priority consistency.
