As one who was affected by this bug, I have verified that the fix does
indeed work. I have followed the steps in [Test Case] outlined above and
was unable to reproduce the issue using the fixed package.

I've found a workaround until the proper fix gets backported. This is
not supported and may break things. Proceed at your own risk (there is
a way to undo this).
Install the latest `mypaint-data` from the current Ubuntu 20.10
(`groovy`) builds.
