I'm told this is fixed in Ubuntu 18.10 (via the split-out upstream

We shouldn't close bugs without explaining why. So here's the
explanation: the original bug report here was fixed in an upstream
commit that was part of csound 6.10.0, which is in Ubuntu 18.04.
(Ubuntu 17.10 is end of life, so the supported way to get this fix is to
upgrade to 18.04.)

It looks like the upstream fix was just a matter of deleting one line.
We should try cherry-picking just that change first. It was part of a
commit with some other changes upstream, but here's a link to the
relevant part of the patch:

Well, no, not to nitpick or anything, but there were *no outstanding
Ubuntu changes*, so it can't be true that they have been cherry-picked
in Debian! Look at the diff. The effect is the same, but I'm generally
more comfortable with sync requests when they're accurate.
OK, we'll park this until
"merged in debian" is wrong, as there's nothing to merge. But yes, it's
true that this can be synced. However, Blender 2.71 is a significant
feature release so I'm not comfortable going right ahead and syncing it:

be added to ubuntu-meta.
