On 8/13/2012 I updated ubuntu 12.10. Now when I try to log in the
system flashes a black screen and then puts me back at the log in
screen. Logging in as guest works. I tried adding a new user and
cannot log in with that user either.
I switched to gdm and logging in works

I found this post http://askubuntu.com/questions/65852/cannot-login-to-
my-user-account which suggested removing ~/.Xauthority file. I did this
and was able to log in without problem.

I'm using Shotwell to Publish (ctrl+shift+P) photos to Flickr. Some of
these uploads take quite a while, so I'd like to do other things while
they're running. If I alt-tab over to Firefox or Slack or whatever, my
mouse works normally, but if I alt-tab back to Shotwell to peek
Adding some detail here: Switching back to xorg reproduces the bug 100%.
I can click on the launcher, it seems to be the only thing that'll
receive my clicks while the bug is active, but new apps launched while
the bug is active are also unable to see mouse clicks.
Kernel is 4.15.0-29-generic #31-
@Seth E6520.. seems to work fairly well so far, only thing I'm noticing
is that it seems to be much more sensitive - IE, if I am holding my
finger "still" on the touchpad, the pointer twitches around, which it
didn't with the psmouse driver. Can actually make it harder to click on

Patch on post 132 worked perfectly for me. Trackpad, two-finger touch
for right click and two-finger scroll function as they should.
It'd be nice to see some support from elantech on this, though, to get
the full range of features working properly. It really is a cool

Confirming using the x-swat ppa. Should be version 285.05.09. I have
great performance, except when dragging windows around, there is around
1 second of delay for the window to move.
I am running fully up to date 11.10 x64 on a System76 Serp6 with an

Shouldn't nvidia-glx-190 be added since it is the latest stable? Plus by
then there will most likely be a newer stable release anyways. The 190
drivers from the nvidia-vdpau ppa have not been updated yet for xorg
7.5. There are 195 drivers (beta) that don't conflict, but they do not
show up in Hard
I do agree with going with the 195 drivers for lucid. Harry, just
wondering how you got the 190 drivers from the nvidia ppa to work. For
me, they are still conflicting with xorg and ubuntu-desktop.
