I can confirm that #14 works for me also, however it doesn't provide me

I installed libwacom-dev but result did not change.
I upgraded to kernel 5.11.8-051108-lowlatency and now the stylus works
normally: pressure, and both in-line buttons.

I don't really know what I'm reporting. All that I know that my machine has
problem with not working brightness keys while on AC power.
But on battery all works normally..

I agree, the entire interface freezes and I can not seem to give any
keyboard or mouse input without restarting.

Alexander's patch also works nicely for me! So awesome to have a font I
can read again and not to have to mess with Linux every time I turn off

Confirmed here - I just updated.
No Launcher, No top panel. Nvidia Settings crashed, Apport crashed. I think
some of the crashes crashed.

Currently my Mobile 9000 (RV250) causes a CPU load of about 25% and very
sluggish behavior under 9.04 (8.10 was fine). But I can resize Konsole nearly

@Rolf: I can't test as my question above ("How can I try the upstream
solution? (Without compiling anything, that is...)") wasn't answered...
By the way, my system has dedicated 64 MB VRAM for the Mobility Radeon
9000... So I doubt that's a low memory situation.

I've tried the PPA driver now.
Without XAA the Xorg task uses constantly 10 - 50% of the CPU (a few
applications are open, but in the background; in the foreground only a
Konsole with top is running).
With XAA the Xorg taks stays under 5% (same set

without XAA my Xorg defaults to VESA?!?
