Installing any nvidia-* driver package manually via apt-get or using
System Settings -> Software & Updates -> Additional Drivers results in

I've opened up LP Bug #1159269 regarding broken xorg.conf on boot but,
even after I got X working properly after running nvidia-xconfig,
brightness wasn't adjustable on my MacBookAir3,1. I had to manually edit
xorg.conf to make brightness adjustable.

experimental-310 won't install/build (Unable to determine the target
kernel version.). nvidia-313-updates installs/builds fine.

unusable on MacBookAir3,1 due to LP Bug #576648 so I switched to running

It is reproducible and happens every time I sleep/resume. It's similar
to another bug I encountered a while ago in Oneiric and for a while in
Natty Beta 1 where the background would disappear on sleep/resume but,
if I left-clicked anywhere on the Dekstop, the image would reappear.
