I've seen this on both a Dell laptop, and in virtualbox so far. Booting
up the 20130923.1 amd64 desktop image, I see multiple gray bars at the
top of the screen where you pick whether you want to go to a live
session, or install.

After installing the 20120213.1 alternate image for precise, I should
see X come up on the first boot, but instead it's leaving me at a
console login.
In the Xorg.0.log, it seems to be having trouble loading the vboxvideo module
and fails to ever give me a graphical desktop.
