I don't think it helps much, but I started the live system on a computer

Alberto, can you please have a look here?
It doesn't happen on Kubuntu, so I suppose compiz is triggering
something that makes -ati crash.
If we can't fix the driver easily, we have the fallbck option of
blacklisting compiz on those cards, too.

I tried https://edge.launchpad.net/~albertomilone/+archive/x-testing on
a live system (new mesa), and I still have the same problem.
When I remove /usr/lib/dri/r600_dri.so, GNOME session starts up, but
with metacity. So that would be a regression compared to Jaunty, where I
didn't get 3D accelerat
Sorry, I misremembered. Jaunty didn't have compositing on this card, so
it's not a regression.

Hm, seems merely shipping it doesn't work any more. I installed it into
a live system, restarted gdm, and it's still not using it.
So don't bother pulling it in unless we also have way to automatically
enable it.
As a workaround, I start kvm with "-usb -usbdevice tablet", which works
just fine.
Timo, did you test the packages yourself on tablet hardware? I also
subscribed Alberto, I think he also knows about tablets.
The changelog looks appropriate, I just can't decipher what "Updated
wacom_wac.c" is supposed to mean?
On how much hardware was this tested?

As discussed on IRC, the changes are bug fixes and aren't too many of
them either, and QA on intel's side looked very thorough. The package
was tested in x-updates PPA before as well. The only new feature was
support for b43 which we planned anyway.
Approved.

Thanks for the .ods document, well prepared. I agree that this looks
appropriate, no new features, just bug fixing. Keeping the DGA bits for
now sounds sensible, though, as long as we don't need which of the
third-party apps still use it.
Approved.

hanks for confirming. Can you please get us the output of "lspci|grep VGA"
here, so that we know which chipset you are using?
For verification I'm also interested in getting testing feedback with
other chipsets (from other people and QA team).
Thanks,
Martin
