What can I do to help resolve this bug? It's annoyingly repeatable, I
get it at least ten times a day.
Basically lightdm starts normally. Then after a suspend/resume cycle it
says the session is locked. lightdm is now in a state where it
doesn't/can't talk to the X server into vt7. So it starts a

When I start Lucid on my new laptop, I get the Ubuntu logo in the middle
of the screen. At the moment I'd expect to get a login screen, the logo
disappears and I get some text -- AND the Xorg mouse cursor!
I can then switch to another VT and back to

Disconnecting the laptop from a docking station with a DVI monitor
attached sometimes crashes X. This is the log of one of those times.
(btw, it thought it had to report this to nvidia-graphics-drivers, while
I have an intel grap

Same problem here on a T410, also with nvidia 3100m graphics. Brightness
adjustment works in the terminal, and worked before installing the
proprietary drivers. If you need any info (logs etc.) let me know.

"EnableBrightnessControl=1" ] to my xorg.conf it works!
Maybe this should be in the default xorg.conf for the closed-source
drivers...

Hey Tom,
Thanks for notifying the nvidia developers, hopefully they release a fix
soon. However, I don't think 'in progress' is the right status, unless
you are taking responsibility for releasing a fix. I think the correct
procedure would be to set the status to 'triaged', post updates here
that
