D260. Screensaver kicked in and I then unplugged from AC power and
unlocked the screen.

Further info - I left the system for a while and came back to it. The
cursor was still frozen, but behind the unity menu was the screensaver /
locker. I entered my password which removed the locker window. What's
interesting though is that as this happened the frozen cursor changed
from a pointer t

To make the corruption disappear, all I did was click the window
maximize button twice, forcing an X redraw.
Notice that in the corrupted image, there is a strange, aside from the
obviously missing text both above *and* below the cursor position, there
is an odd artifact showing just to the right
Note that the images in #20 and #21 were with the proprietary nvidia
driver.
