i915.ko is the kernel driver used for all Intel GPUs. i965_dri.so is the OpenGL driver used for all of the GPUs mentioned in this bug report (I see Ironlake and Ivy Bridge). I also only see one Mesa version mentioned (9.0.1), and it's quite old. Is anyone able to reproduce this on either 9.1.4 or
