At some occasion when working on my Acer 532h running Lucid Netbook
Edition I get a popup saying that I now run in degraded video mode. At
this point I have the choice to repair, restart X, reconfigure...

the drain rate in the Power Monitor go up or down by about 5 watts as I
toggle the discrete card. Power Monitor says that's good for an extra

Problem spontaneously disappeared with today's "aptitude update &&
aptitude full-upgrade".
The ibus error message is still here. So this was indeed unrelated.
Strangely enough, today's update did not include xorg packages. My best
guess is that the problem was in some KDE base package.

I followed JH's suggestion to use the x-swat repository, and I haven't
had a problem since. It was a good work around for me, and I plan to
continue with it until we get an official patch.

supported in 10.04, but selecting that resolution produces a garbaged
screen in 11.04.
