Geir Ove Myhr - you have solved the problem! Installing the newest kernel from your 1st link has enabled the boot to complete. Xorg and all. I just downloaded the relevant DEB files from the newest kernel folder, and did a: dpkg -i *.deb And a reboot... Now I'll just have to figure out why the
