Xorg begins to eat cpu immediately right after I've pressed Ctrl+C (copied

I also do not observe any correlation between the time the lid is closed
and occurrence of the bug. What I find suspicious is that most users
experiencing the bug are using a Thinkpad of the X series (X200, X200s,
X220), in my case it's a Lenovo x200s.

i am running a fresh install of Ubunutu 16.04.1 i386 on top of Virtual Box
5.1.6 using Win7 i386 as host.
(with FreeDos as a VB-client on the same system i have the mouse just working.)
the hosting machine is accessed via RDP.
tests with console switching did not show any improvement.
