My setup: office with two screens and a long cable to a TV screen in the
next room. The TV screen is off.
Error: Upon starting ubuntu, GDM shows only blank screens. When the TV
is unplugged, I can see the GDM login screen. Moving mouse pointer to

After running this command, I have not had any recurrence of the

That is bug 1867668, not this one.
But good point! Because many Nvidia owners are actually using a hybrid
machine where the Intel GPU is wired to the screen, not the Nvidia GPU.
In such a case bug 1867668 is what you should be subscribed to, not this
bug.

Ive just tried this again this morning
1. 2560 x 1440
2. 3840 x 2160
3. 1920 x 1200
I set fractional scaling to 1.50 on screen 2 (Others 100%)
For the session it works perfectly fine, But after logging out and
logging back in the settings do not get saved (Nvidia gtx 1080 with 440
driver)

I have 2 monitors. Mon1: Right, Portrait is 1920x1080. Mon2: Left, Landscape is
3840x2160. The display to Mon2 overlaps Mon1 display by approx 90%. Moving
cursor to far right causes display 2 on Mon2 to slide left. Moving
Nvidia driver support for the Ubuntu fractional scaling patch is
somewhat random at the moment. And I don't mean to blame Nvidia, it's
probably something we did wrong. Just saying various Nvidia users
experience different issues:

Hi,
i try to use external monitor on my dell G5 2019 (5590). works on ubuntu
18.4 (after reboot) using prime-select nvidia.
did this on 20.4 (prime-select + reboot because logoff/login again still
don't work) and it hang on boot while showing ubuntu bootscreen with
animation
Gave it a go - similar results to what happens when I first power it up
and log in - the trackpad controls the pointer for a few seconds then
stops once the desktop (I assume) is done loading.
Is there any kind of command to find out what devices X and/or gnome is
responding to? It almost feels l
