the problem is in the plymouth and the two pieces of software are Comodo

Found a workaround: Forcing Mir to use swap interval zero whenever
xmir_dri2_copy_region is used seems to solve the issue. Then we get one
swap per xmir_dri2_copy_region.
Although it's not clear why that's required at all. You should be able

I tried recreating this today by installing the -lts-utopic, -lts-vivid,
-lts-wily HWE stacks and then purging the 3.13 kernel (linux-
image-3.13.0-93-generic), and then running 'sudo aptitude purge ~c'.
The removal of the /etc/X11/X symlink only caused a problem after
rebooting with the -lts-utopi

lesser digits. Its likely that there was an issue with the ddebs server

partition (I've been awfully broke for 2 years), and I can't delete stuff
yet until I'm done with some project
Look, all you need to do is install the package (which replaces xserver-
xorg-video-ati-lts-xenial you already have installed, so no extra space
taken) and report back if it works or not. Then you get another build to
test and eventually there is a commit identified to tell upstream
about...
