Ok, after adding mesa 11.0.0 I haven't seen this crash for 2 days now.

I'm afraid I don't have the system any longer. Also, I updated Ubuntu to
its latest version to stop the flickering, so the problem has already
been fixed by ubuntu. I guess it's a problem of backporting the latest
fixes in Ubuntu 15.04 to 14.04.
