Regarding the (EE) error messages shown in Xorg.0.log, can you give the
newer Catalyst driver a try (http://support.amd.com/en-

With the update I received today (libcairo2*) the behaviour I described earlier
disappeared.
It is now possible to place icons on both screens/ desktops.
On top of that this update also gave me a staggering speed increase!
Hence, I think this bug report can be closed, the issue is solved.

Everything worked normal until that day in November 2013. I started the
netbook and suddenly the date was set on 01-01-1970. I tried to change
it myself, but couldn't do it. Also surfing is a problem: it won't open
https-websites anymore.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey guys - a little help for a relative Ubuntu n00b?
I'm *not* running Mythbuntu - I'm running standard Ubuntu Desktop 14.04.
I don't have xfce4-settings installed, but I am seeing very similar

What works for me to get some output on my blank screen is to execute
'xrandr --auto' via ssh.
That only works when X was started in the first place, which may not be

I think I am hitting the same problem; interestingly on Xubuntu 14.04 ... and a
plantronics blackwire 420 headset.
Any time I use it to make a call (and start using its volume keys) ...
mouse/keyboard get "whacked" that way.
