Simon P., I just tested this in a Vivid live environment (
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ ) on my own hardware
(Lenovo IdeaPad S415 Touch) and this issue is no longer reproducible.

I have a weird problem. Just when i log in the system interface don`t dispaly
correctly and need some time to upload. I use SSD and Ubuntu 14.04 installed
via EFI and my video card is Nvidia GTX 650.
You can see, that the interface is not load yet becouse the windows border
I decided, even I was sure it wasn't due to my script, to install manually the
packages.
I first install + restart+upgrade+reboot
I then add some sources and I begun to install using apt-get:

I think I was affected by this issue , which lead me to this error
message after unloading Xorg :
sudo modprobe radeon
[ 301.718377] [drm:radeon_init] *ERROR* No UMS support in radeon module!
I had to force kms by :
grep radeon /etc/default/grub
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="radeon.mod

including mouse is frozen and only switch to tty1 and return to
