I have an ASUS Eee PC 1101HA.
Aside from the Atom Z520 processor it uses a GMA500 embedded graphics card
which is part of the SCH US15W chipset, also known as "Poulsbo".
The interesting thing is: Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS works out of the box and is
reasonably fast.
Now I installed Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and
I had the same issue. Ville's patch solved the problem. Thanks a lot

I'm using a System76 Pangolin. I recently upgraded from 13.04 to 13.10
and thereafter to 14.04. Since I've upgraded, the lock screen no longer
works, either through the power menu in the top right corner or using
the keyboard shortcut. When I try, a very low opacity overlay of
pureblood, could you please provide the mfg. and model of the adapter?
