Dear all.
I have the same problem after upgrading from 13.04. Only now I use
ubuntu 13.10 GNOME running GDM.
[Although I had the same problem when I tried unity with lightdm -
History: I was so frustrated I tried Unity (32 & 64 bit) and now Gnome
all with the same results.]

Harald, Rob, please comment on that bug to confirm the issue and its

Hello,
I cannot switch user graphical session anymore. Ubuntu 13.10 here, lightdm
1.8.5-0ubuntu1.
The screen goes black with text cursor blinking in the top left corner and a
mouse arrow. After some time I get back to my session.
Tried removing ~/.Xauthority with no luck.
Additionally, right after graphical login I get 3 dialog windows with "System
program problem detected".
If I do "Report problem..." nothing happens.

@Christopher Penalver, thank you for your query.
I have tested the latest 14.04 as you requested, using both a Live USB

hardware still works with Windows.)

This bug blocks me from upgrading some machines to 13.10. Since 13.10's
support ends before 14.04 comes out, providing an upgrade so that I can
continue to get support is important.
Upgrading to 13.10 without this package will make things more
complicated.
