I am also getting this bug and have observed it on 3 laptops.
My own laptop is a Lenovo z480 with 6gb ram and intel core i5 3210m ,
intel hd4000 graphics.
This one freezes ( complete freeze - no mouse , tty , anything ) once in
a week
Another old lenovo has same issue. It also freezes a little m
I just heard about this bug, thought it was an old monitor I had, but
wasn't.
Now here's the rub. I have an x86 system that started showing this
issue when I upgraded to Precise from Lucid (32bit only for old reasons
- will reimage when I get a chance to backup 500G worth of development
stuff).
Nevermind. Restarted firefox and it works now. Still, quite odd that it
worked on display=:0.1 but not display=:0.0.

Apparently the problem is solved for me. Installing the
proprietary driver for my nvidia card seems to be the key,
although, as I said before (#523), something is definitively
going on with the audio driver as well. I recall my config:

Some people are reporting that this doesn't happen in a fresh 12.04.1

lack of feature support in the nvidia driver.
