works on Windows, the card does not seem to be defective)
Without MSI: Compiz starts but the desktop is a fixed image. I see no special
error in .xsession-errors.

I changed the WIFI card of this laptop last week (because of regular
disconnections) and now I'm able to start Unity 3D and Gnome-Shell. I

input via HDMI initially.

Note that apport wrote this in my bug report:

but this does not apply to the moment of the crash. At the time of the
crash, glxinfo would have displayed this:
OpenGL vendor string: X.Org
I do have this bug also since some time (ok, some months, maybe over a year).
Recently I stumble upon Bug#926906 and Bug#712584, both on Firefox accessing
the grafix card and AppArmor blocking the access. Since all my crashed seemed

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1037518, so is being marked as such.
I just tried again and it seems that this bug is at least partially
reproducible:
- the GPU hangs occurred again after a few seconds and the kernel was not able
to recover
- unfortunately the X server did not crash again
