It is no Laptop, it is a PC and the monitors are connected directly.
I tried booting the system with the VGA monitor not attached and attached it
later (when logged in already).
The monitor was detected, with reduced resolution however, so this dit NOT fix
the issue.

On my Acer Emachine e625 laptop, enabling MSI seems to be an improvement.
`vblank_mode=0 glxgears` give me 690 FPS when I had 590 without MSI.
However, the desktop experience (Unity 3D) feels the same with or

As in comment 101, the current behavior of X prevents a lot of
interesting usage of shift keys as shortcuts.
A Windows-only compose key program uses the "ctrl" key as the compose
key. This is apparently impossible to do in X input methods because you
can only bind actions to the press of "ctrl". W
I don't know what they have done in Ubuntu but 12.04 understands both
press and release. Layout switching happens on release. If you press Alt
you see the global menu and after release HUD uppears. Looks like
everything has been fixed. But if you use Ctrl or Alt for layout
switching you still can't

enough to have a setting for "off timer" and the timeout of 1h. By
default.. I have no idea if it should use some sort of a sensor, I've
turned every eco mode setting off since they don't work. Looks like this

Hmm, there is some similarity here between this and bug 51616 if in both
cases the kernel reports the pipe as active, but in reality it is
disabled.

It is not fixed, but at least eDP is recognized.
It is listed in xrandr and xserver enabled duals screen, but eDP screen is
blank.

BTW: On the video I have the following script running on lightDM start.

xrandr --output VGA1 --off
xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto && xrandr --output VGA1 --right-of LVDS1 --auto
With this script removed lightDM shows the same login screen on both displays.
