After last kernel update from 3.0.0-14 to 3.0.0-22,
the screen has a 2mm width band blinking at the top - almost in cyan.

X.org segfaults when exiting
This bug does not only affect Intel chipsets, my AMD Fusion laptop
freezes just fine.
To the people considering trying newer kernels, here is what it did for
me, 3.3.6 and 3.3.7 made my system even more instable, it kept freezing,
kernel 3.5 made it impossible to use Unity 3D and forced Unity 2D o
In addition to the suggestion in #328, I also disabled java script in FF 13.
Edit- Preferences- Content. I always have done a similar tweak with windows & I
did it in Ubuntu just out of habit. No freezes under moderate usage for almost
2 weeks now!

Multiple Displays not wo
This fix worked for me as well. Lenovo T420 with Intel integrated gpu
and 2 external monitors attached to a docking station.
This still isn't included in the Ubuntu distribution yet, so every time
upgrade manager runs, it recommends that I "upgrade" back to the broken
version.

My system suffers a complete freeze ~2x per day. I'm running the FOSS
nVidia driver. I can confirm that the freezes happen both with Unity 2D
and Unity 3D.
I've noticed it seems to happen most often while (or after) playing
audio streamed over the internet, either on YouTube or Rhythmbox.

unchecking "disable touchpad while typing" fixes the issue. in order to
avoid accidental clicks, you must also unceck "enable mouse clicks with
touchpad" and use the purpose-built buttons only
