Hi Vincent,
The configuration is not going to be enabled by default now or in future
Ubuntu releases because it conflicts with Unity gestures. If you want to
enable it by default, it needs to be set in /etc/X11/xorg.conf like:

Identifier "touchpad 3-tap"

I can reproduce this also, just mplayer some video and wait until
screensaver starts to dim the screen. Also happened with other screen
candy activity while doing some audio production.
Workaround: use DE with no effects enabled.

Well, 12.04 runs fine with a 3.3 kernel. The real problem is that the
bug is back in the 3.4 kernel including the final release and there has
been no fix during the entire rc-cycle. Also, so far no comment from an
involved developer.

Hi everyone,
AbiWord-2.9.2 is very much a development release and should never have
been included in Ubuntu 12.04. Please revert to abiword-2.8.6

Hi, your description of the suspend/resume bug fits my experience
exactly. This wasn't an issue until the last week, and I don't really
know what has broken suspend/resume. As described here the bug is only
encountered after some of the suspend/resumes, I'd say that it happens
on less than 20% of r
This fix is included in Ubuntu kernel 3.2.0-24.38 which is now
available for Precise via Update-manager.

Google Earth seems to be working fine on my GM965, even with Mesa 8.0.2.
I haven't tried an older kernel or xf86-video-intel, though, so I'm not
certain whether this got fixed at some point or if I'm just failing to
reproduce the issue.

The system has an old i865 graphics card, which is older than what we
support in Ubuntu. Thus this issue is not appropriate for a precise SRU
fix.
However, upstream (Intel) does provide limited support in the trunk code
for these old cards. For these 8xx cards we just ship what they provide

I have the same bug in 12.04. Isn't nvidia one of the most popular
video card and ubuntu the most popular linux? There should be some
urgency to fixing this as it makes the desktop unusable.
Thanks.
