I actually was encountering this exact same crash with Virtualbox on an
oneiric server when X forwarding from a precise machine. I installed
that patched libxi6 on the oneiric server and it fixed the problem.

Please provide a recording of this device that causes X to crash:

When I run "xrandr -r 60.0 -s 1680x1050" I get "Rate 60.0 Hz not

I tried the settings in the xorg.conf and it doesn't work either.
I don't have a ~/.config/monitors.xml file
Something worth mentioning is that I am using the VGA Out of the card,
not the digital output.

Thanks a lot for looking into this bug, I also believe this comes from
the nvidia driver itself.
I am already running the new 295.33, I received the update form 295.20

A recent update to Workrave (possibly 1.9.908?) has fixed this and I've
had no further crashes (on 11.10) since the update. I don't think it has
made it into the main repo yet, as I am installing from Rob Caelers ppa.
So people having issues due to Workrave could try installing the ppa
version from
