I have fixed the problem, for some reason when I installed the drivers
it created a graphical mode for my monitor in 1680x1050 at 60Hz that did
not work.
Using nvidia-settings as root I switched the mode frequency to Auto and
applied and it fixed the problem straight away. I saved the setting in

Hi,
Having similar problem on a thin client with Intel 945GSE and Atom N270 CPU.
We can only get up to 1280x1024 resolution although it supports up to 1920x1200.
X defaults to vesa and not intel driver.

Okay, I booted from my beta 12.04 CD. The splash logo is perfectly fine,

We do anticipate getting one more -nvidia release prior to Precise
shipping, and hope that will include an updated -173. Maybe we'll get
-96 too but hard to say; that appears to get attention less frequently,

This occurs after installing xserver-xorg-video-omap3 on a BeagleBoard-
xM running 12.04 Beta 1+updates. Xorg seems to detect and try to load
the omapfb driver, unloads it without specifying any error codes, and
then proceeds to use fbdev
It looks like it loads/unloads omapf
