Can't compile 0.10 into kernel 3.2 (from kernel mainline ppa)

When zooming in kicad, during heavy work periods, sometimes every 10-20
minutes, I am kicked back to gdm login. There is a backtrace in the
Xorg log. About 10% of the time, the screen just freezes, still
allowing mouse cursor movement (but nothing else). I can still ssh int
