Yes, I have other problems for sure... :(
Disabling desktop effect does not solve the problem, I have already tried.
I have a Windows installation, but it is inside VirtualBox. I don't have any OS
other than Linux.
This situation started with a dist-upgrade of a few days ago.
As far
I have the same problem on 10.04, however only when running a Windows XP
guest on Virtualbox 4.0.4. Additionally the Virtualbox guest window
sometimes doesn't get refreshed anymore, unil I resize the window
several times.

(500->) made the cursor jumping stop, though the side-effect was that

Tested with Oneiric image from July 5th on the Dell 2110. Upon connecting
external display, the external goes black as in picture 2. The internal display
gets a "ghost" copy of the top panel, about 2/3 of the way down the screen.
from that point up until the actual top panel, everything is black

overheating when overclocking. Not to say that Nvidia cards don't do that
under normal speed, because the ones that don't do powermizer have for me in

Well, I decided to add myself as this is seriously annoying. I have a
MacBook Pro with a HUGE trackpad and anytime I go near a the y, u, 6 or
7 keys the cursor moves and my text ends up being inserted elsewhere.
Othertimes it will randomly copy a block of text and then the next key
press deletes/r
Here's some more diagnostics:
I tried this with Ubuntu Maverick. The primary display remains
functional and shows everything correctly with no sluggishness, but the
secondary display, upon plugging in, appears to have a width of only one
pixel; that is, if I move my cursor to the secondary display
One more thing, which also worked ok before: after coming back from
resume, there is out-of-sync noise on the external monitor. Switching
to vt1 and back fixes it, which suggests to me it's also mode-setting
related.
