I found this to be the case on both my netbook and desktop. On the
desktop (a nividea card) I can at least fall back to a properly
displayed vc and reboot. On the netbook, I am forced to do the same,
only the vc is also corrupted, so login is blind.

Natty Xorg crashes on Thinkpad
Here's Xorg.0.log.old right after a crash. I did install debugging
symbols but I don't see them in the backtrace it contains. Are there any
utouch specific debugging symbol packages I should install?
I could not find the core dump that is mentioned in

Unity fails with Nouveau and with 173 official drivers, which are
installed but not in use. So, Unity fails with Nouveau, 173 problem is
another bug.
But I have no idea if it's Unity problem, or Nouveau problem.

Seeing as a number of people are upset at the lack of activity from
nvidia in regards to this issue, i did some digging and if someone has
the know how or canonical has the developer power i think they should

On my system (i915), I notice only a minor speed deterioration using the
DebugWait command, observed in Aquaria (lower fps) and Snes9x (increased
"hiccups"). The corrupted glyphs seem to be fixed for me as well using
this workaround.

Same issue on fresh install of 11.04 Natty Desktop from LiveDVD. Dell
Inspiron 1300. Keyboard/touchpad lag/losing sync. Same report from
dmesg. Mine is a little stranger then the others seem to be because
sometimes the problem exists and sometimes it doesn't. There are times
when I can login and go
I don't think the bug is invalid, I am getting the issue (no Unity) on a
fresh install of Natty on a T420 with a Nvidia NVS 4200M.
Jockey-gtk shows that nvidia-current is installed but not in use.
I did not install proprietary drivers, so I wonder why it is installed.
