Have also tested this on a ASRock H67M-ITX with i3-2100T and i5-2500T.
Exact same symptom. I'm pretty sure now all "Sandy Bridge" internal GPUs
are affected, at least with H67 chipset. This looks serious to me as

Unfortunately there is no reference to radeon in that dmesg.txt. The one
in /var/log only contains the early boot messages. Please check the
/var/log/kern.log* files which are more complete, or run dmesg >
dmesg.txt yourself. If there is still no radeon stuff in there, try to
insmod it.

just tested on Ubuntu Classic (gnome) for a while, and bam ! it also crashed
if I let the screensaver holds the fullscreen for more than 30 minutes... it
also happened to banshee in full screen... what ever is drawn wont erase,
and I dont get to use the desktop anymore... I have to reboot via

since unity-2d is not the "experience" we all read in mak's blog i feel
gnome-classic is the best solution.
i hav the feeling to be under pressure to upgrade my hardware it is not
a confortable situation.

Vmware Player (version 3.1.4 build-385536) installed on top of that. It

Didn't work for me.
I have radeon mobility 5470.
I the known confuration and it worked only when tear free was disabled plus
vsync.

I'm using nvidia-current (version 270.41.06). In the screenshot with
nvidia-current I get a black artefact, using nouveau I get a blue
artefact.

In fact, enabling "Force synchronization between X and GLX" is no longer a
workaround...
this is a huge problem as it means KDE applications (and openoffice?) don't
work correctly.

Thanks for testing xorg-edgers, however that is a snapshot of the
upstream source code not something we actively maintain ourselves in
Ubuntu, so bugs with it should really be filed directly upstream at
bugs.freedesktop.org rather than here at launchpad.
