Hey Rodrigues,
Glad to hear this worked for you, instead of using a script download:
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/38458054/nvidia-g210m-acpi-source_0.1.0-1
%7Eppa-karmic_all.deb
This was originally designed for lenovo laptops. Kudos to Sylvain Joyeux
for creating this.
I also attached usr.src.
Running the metacity command fixes the problem in my case.

I'd like to add that, for me, the "slow motion mode" of Launchpad while
viewing the list of subscribers is not a problem when deactivating
proprietary drivers. Using the nouveau driver instead of nvidia-current
(195.36.24-0ubuntu1~10.04), Firefox runs smoothly in Launchpad.

Hi Emmanouel,
On maverick xorg.conf.d directory changed again:
/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ <--- Maverick 10.10
/usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/ <--- Lucid 10.04
Also mavercick seems to have usbquirks applied by default.
Try to add the new section to /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/05-evdev.conf

After my switch to nouveau, someday the compiz effects got disabled, and
since then I did not have any freeze or lock up. I'm probably just
lucky, but that can be something worth giving a try.

I had frequent short freezes on Xubuntu 10.10. The patch from the Glasen

I thought I was affected by this bug but it was actually a different

The actual cause was my dual display setup.
When I switched to the nvidia driver from nouveau, I didn't realize that
I had even plugged in my "second" display. While the display was

Hey,
I've been having the same trouble that Emmanouel is suffering from. I'm

I've tried pretty much everything that's mentioned here

Though Alt-F4 solved the purpose here.

You have to do that again.
Press 'a'
Try to do horizontal scrolling and use the bottom portion only. Show that your
horizontal scroll doesn't work.
Press 'a'
Then press Ctrl-Z
Note:: not to create any noise in the log file, by moving your pointer
unnecessarily in the window.
