Thanks, driver compiles fine on maverick 64b. Also devices are created well and
X identifies it.
But, when trying to 'evtest' the device, i got no response.
In xorg.conf, I got only conf for nvidia.

Upgraded from 9.10 to 10.04 yesterday and encountered this problem with
a GeForce 8500 on AMD64. Running compiz I see very poor performance.
Installed the latest nvidia driver for my card from the vendor, with no
effect. Also tried the install libgnome command, with no effect. Finally
bailed and up

driver, not in the current upstream tree. So MAverick cannot support it.
I was referring to the backports modules package for Lucid which

I have been looking into this problem, especially Dmitry Torokhov's work
around this issue. It appears that there is a patch that has been
implemented in Gentoo for the 2.6.32 kernel series. Since this patch is
dated 2010-07-29, I am wondering if this patch has been incorporated
into the mainline

1: 1920x1080 (left)
2: 1600x900 (right)
Therefore, there are 180 pixels of so called "dead space" underneath the
second (right-hand) monitor, which is explicitly not viewable due to

Same here. It only crashes if xinerama is enabled. If I disable xinerama, qt
apps can be run ok.
Tested with Lucid and Meerkat, also tried newest beta of the nvidia drivers
(260.19.04), same result.

If I only knew about that problem before upgrade I have just made few
hours ago :( (10.04.1->10.10) Now I'm stuck with nv driver, as nouveau
is so slow on my machine, that even moving mouse pointer over menus
makes lag. That's really bad, I hope nvidia-96 binary drivers will work
with Ubuntu 10.10
I upgraded to 10.10 yesterday, so far no problem, but it's too soon to
say if it was resolved upstream, since this a intermediate issue, but I
have my fingers crossed. It is a good omen that no one has posted the
problem on 10.10, since as we all know most users simply forget about

Stefan, haw can we help with that testing?
Overall I'm really surprised that Wacom tablets get so small attention
considering upcoming multi-touch in Ubuntu. It seems that more works is
being done for some crazy magic pads, or whatever it's that Apple's
thing called.
