Either way its not related to the bug - this is about the mouse diving
offscreen. Furthermore, personally I have compiz deactivated, because on
my laptop I want to save a bit of energy and the onboard graphics is 2D

I have just installed the new linux-image-2.6.32-25 from Ubuntu repositories,

I believe the fix discussed above (256.53, released: 2010.08.31) only provides
a solution for only some of the users. Although it added support for
xorg-server video driver ABI version 8 / xorg-server-1.9, the driver does not
support legacy cards such as the Geforce 5 FX series.

had a problem since. It was a good work around for me, and I plan to
continue with it until we get an official patch.

still exists in xf86-input-wacom.
Behaviour exactly the same: cursor spread out over left one third of

upgraded one hour ago: still not working opengl, need to switch on
xrender. No blur effect, no aladdin lamp, and so on. kubuntu maverick
i386, intel i915. Same system with ubuntu 10.04 and compiz works
flawlessly.

I use Ubuntu 10.10 and I have Acer Aspire One with Intel graphics card.
I'm not absolutely sure if I have the same bug as you, but I can't start
Quadrapassel either. Here's what happens when I start it from command
line:

After todays update old driver fglrx_8.762-0ubuntu1_amd64 (10.8 Catalyst)
stopped to work. Trtying to uninstall and install newer
fglrx_8.771-0ubuntu1_amd64 (catalyst 10.9) gave bulid kernel module error, and
didn't install. Trying again to install te alder one - same resu
