I'm also affected by this very annoying bug.
I run Ubuntu 10.04 (updated from 9.10) with an old Athlon XP 2500 on an
Asus a7n8x deluxe mainboard. My graphic device is an ATI Radeon 9200 SE.
However, I think I can reproduce this bug as my system freezes almost
anytime I run Thunderbird.
