I had the same problem here. For me it was fixed by the new version of
the xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package (version 1.2.2-1ubuntu1).

Im in lucid Beta 1. I manage to get to the Desktop without problems. I
can explore the menus from the panel and unfold the calendar, but when I
try to open the first window, ANY window, I get a big white box and

Solved on my T60 ThinkPad. Strange. An hour or so ago I did a new
install (lucid beta1) on a new hard disk and everything worked fine.
After a full upgrade the touch pad no longer responded to tapping or
scrolling. Plus the touch pad was very sensitive. I just did another
upgrade (incl. 1.2.2-1ubun

I was using the 185 driver initially and have upgraded to 195 which
hasn't solved the problem.

That option in xorg.conf is only used if KMS is not in use, and it is by
default. You can add radeon.modeset=0 to your boot stanza if you want to
use it through xorg.conf. Like madbiologist said, dynpm is only
available with KMS on a 2.6.34 kernel, but you can use the dynclks
module parameter to en
evdev is getting assigned to your touchpad in these logs, updating to
xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.2.2-1ubuntu1 will fix that.

Same thing happens with i965 on a Lenovo t400s, same backtrace. Has been
happening since Clutter 1.2.2 landed in Lucid. I've spoken to the
Clutter guys and it seems like it's fixed in Fedora 13 as they have a
newer Xorg, though I can't confirm. I'll try and test out a F13 live cd
this weekend.
