Marco, the main point of downgrading is not to find a "better" version
of mesa, but to try to identify when in the development cycle the

I now have a definitve answer. I found the "Maintanance and Service
Guide" for my laptop. It reads: "32 MB of discrete video memory".
At least it shows, that lspci does not report the actual video memory,
and if the Xorg log doesn't report it either, answering this question is
non trivial.

allows these intel graphics controllers to read the EDID information
from the monitors...I do not know if code needs to be written for each

I can say that the Fn+F8 Button works on my new set up Lenovo ThinkPad T60 with
Karmic (64bit).
The function is that the thouchpad is switched on or off. The trackpoint always
