Bump. This issue caused suspend to fail on my Thinkpad T61 and desktop
effects wouldn't work either. I upgraded the xserver-xorg-video-intel
package and both problems went away. Took me a long time to diagnose
this.

I've just encountered this same problem after upgrading from jaunty to
karmic.
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/libglx.so was left pointing at a non-existent
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so.180.44
As before the fix was:
sudo rm /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libglx.so
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/xorg/modules/exte
Looking at the attachments in this bug report, I noticed that
"Xorg.1.log" was flagged as a patch. A patch contains changes to an
Ubuntu package that will resolve a bug, since this was not one I've
unchecked the patch flag for it. In the future keep in mind the

Hi, I have this issue on Karmic!
The Right Alt key just doesn't work at all, which annoys me a LOT because I
have to type in French and German...
Concerns my laptop keyboard as well as my "external" keyboard.
I tried to change almost all settings in the Keyboard Preferences dialog

im having this same problem as well. i upgraded to 9.10 from 9.04
roughly 2 days after the release of 9.10 and did so through the update
manager. everything worked absolutely fine for about a week and a half,
untill 2 days ago, when all of a sudden it just locked up. hard reboot

I'm having this problem with Karmic 64-bit, with the NVIDIA GeForce
8600M GT, using nvidia driver version 185.18.36 (2009-08-14). Random

I have the same type of problem.
When I take a screenshot I see the cursor and some icons/menus.
The icons I see in the screenshot are not visible on the screen.
For example, I cannot see OpenOffice menus on the screen, but I can see them in
the screenshot or in a VNC session from a rem
