I've uploaded mesa 7.6 final to karmic - mind re-testing and see if the
bug is still present on that version? It's had a rather large number of
fixes applied to it so quite possibly one of those changes has resolved

Dear Bartosz,
I tried the SVN openchrome this week. With it the XVideo X11 extension
work without problems. However, with this driver my system's sound
system gets broken. (This is repeatable, with the vesa driver, the sound
works correctly.)

Offhand, this sounds a lot like bug #368135. You could try turning on
SendCoreEvents as described in that bug report to confirm this. If so,
